Mark Barnes
Mark Barnes is a teacher, education consultant, published novelist and former sports columnist for the Warren Tribune in Ohio.
With over 20 years of experience in sports and column writing, Barnes has covered every major sport at the high school, college, and professional levels.
His novel, The League , is the first work of fiction with a plot based on fantasy sports and what can happen when a fantasy league plays for millions of dollars.
Barnes spends most of his time teaching language arts to seventh graders and web-based instruction to educators.
His first love, however, is still sports.
"I always envisioned hitting the game-winning shot at the Final Four," Barnes says. "I was never good enough to compete at a high level, though, so I live moments like this vicariously through the lives of the amateurs and pros I sometimes write about.
"But in my dreams, I never miss that shot."
